Disney+ No Longer Offering 7 Day Free Trials and Right Before ‘Hamilton’ Too

I guess Disney is starting to get wise to people using new user 7-day free trials to watch popular shows and then cancelling. They have just stopped offering the week for free right before the July 3rd debut of ‘Hamilton’ on Disney+.

The Verge posted about the change on their blog when they noticed that it was no longer available in the United States and there was no mention of the 7-day free trial on the streaming site. Of course they reached out to Disney+ and a spokesperson told them :

We continue to test and evaluate different marketing, offers, and promotions to grow Disney+. The service was set at an attractive price-to-value proposition that we believe delivers a compelling entertainment offering on its own.

Now you need to pay for a month to watch anything on Disney+, which would cost $6.99 for the basic Disney+ service that doesn’t include Hulu or ESPN.

Bloggers are just noting that it’s interesting that the free trials end right before the release of ‘Hamilton” and I can understand why. It’s going to be a huge event and with what they paid, I can’t blame them.
