Disney Needs To Save Star Wars So They Are Eyeing Up Bella Ramsey? Why?

Disney is in trouble when it comes to their legacy acquisitions like Star Wars and Marvel. Recent reports indicate that Bob Iger and company are scrambling to find a replacement IP that appeals to men after they have run the other two into the ground chasing a different audience. Now their rumored big move to save Star Wars is adding Bella Ramsey from “The Last of Us”?

A new rumor indicates that Disney is considering Bella Ramsey for a role in an upcoming Star Wars project.

MyTimeToShineHello has given us this rumor saying that the actor is being eyed for both Marvel and Star Wars projects, because if you are already down, you can always go lower.

This rumor comes after Ramsey told audiences not to watch “The Last of Us” Season 3 if they don’t like it.

Recently, Bella Ramsey was on “The Awardist” podcast, where they discussed avoiding the negative discourse around the show, saying,

“The show is out. There’s nothing that can be changed or altered. So I’m like, there’s not really any point in reading or looking at anything. People are of course entitled to their opinions. But it doesn’t affect the show, it doesn’t affect how the show continues or anything in any way. They’re very separate things to me. So no, I just don’t really engage.

They added,

“You don’t have to watch it. If you hate it that much, the game exists. You can just play the game again. If you do want to watch it, hope you enjoy it.

Bella Ramsey plays “Ellie” from the video games to a mixed reception. Some arguments, including ones about their appearance, are easily dismissed, but other complaints about pacing and story are not all unfair. Given that the second season was based on the unpopular second game, it is understandable that more complaints have appeared.

But telling people not to watch the show never goes well.

When Marvel and Star Wars are in rapid decline, is adding a controversial actor smart?

Right now, this is only a rumor, but when the Disney C-suite is actively trying to win back the target demographics they lost from choices made at Marvel and Star Wars, why would they bring in another controversial actor that could drive people further away?

It makes no sense to me other than Ramsey is friends with Pedro Pascal, and he has his foot in both Marvel and Star Wars. Like Pascal, Ramsey, has also been vocal about identity and has previously said not watching “The Last of Us” for progressive storylines would be missing out.

“If you don’t want to watch the show because it has gay storylines…that’s on you, and you’re missing out”.

Disney will do what they want, but it seems like a strange move to make given their recent direction changes.  Hopefully, if Ramsey joins either franchise, the story will be more “Mandalorian” and less “Acolyte.”
