Way back in November 2018, then-Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products chairman Bob Chapek announced that a resort hotel would be added to the area that once housed the defunct River Country water park. That Disney Vacation Club resort would be called Reflections-A Lakeside Lodge. After the pandemic, that project was canceled. It is being revisited, but it will now be called the Lakeshore Lodge.
The new Lakeshore Lodge will open in 2027.

Disney says the resort will be inspired by the “majesty of nature and its enduring influence on Disney artists.”
It will be located in the same place the construction started on Reflections, which is in Fort Wilderness along Bay Lake.
