Disney+ ‘Home Alone’ Reboot Has Some Cast Announcements

Since Disney acquired Fox they are already diving into the IP to mine the nostalgia.

Up right away is Home Alone.

According to Variety these are the actors that have been cast: Archie Yates, Ellie Kemper and Rob Delaney. The film will be directed by Don Mazer and will have Mikey Day and Streeter Seidell as writers.

But this is apparently going to go the direct reboot route, which is actually a refreshing change as Disney keeps just remaking, rebooting, and retooling all their IPs.

Apparently this version has the adults not as parents but as a warring faction against the kid who “stole something valuable.”  Which sounds more like Home Alone 3 to me.

I guess we will have to see where this one goes. Cause right now it is “Home Alone” but might not be “Home Alone.”  Huh.
