Disney Ferry Boat Crash “Mass Casualty” Incident Report Released

On July 30 at around 11:40 pm, the General Joe Potter Disney ferry boat crashed into the moorings heading into the Transportation and Ticket Center. Now we have a better idea about what injuries occurred, thanks to the newly released incident report.

It seems that about 20 people were injured in the incident. Here are some of the injuries reported.

One injury is standing out to people. A 25-year-old pregnant woman fell onto her stomach from the crash.

Another person had a possible broken foot, and yet another had possible injuries to their wrist, hip, and elbow.

Yet another had a wrist injury.

Paramedics were called in from both Osceola and Orange County to assist on the scene, and 19 people were transported to hospitals, including Celebration, Horizon West, Flamingo Crossings, and Dr. Phillips.

How did the accident occur?

We don’t know, and Disney hasn’t said. What we do know is that the weather conditions were stormy that night.

Early eyewitness reports indicated that passengers were thrown around and a trash can rolled on top of a child.  Shortly after the accident, those same trash cans were removed from the ships.

Hopefully, all the victims have recovered, but interestingly, no one is talking when it comes to this incident. Are they allowed to talk about it?

It reminds me of the big Skyliner accident in 2019 that stranded dozens of guests for hours, then it all disappeared.

Now I have to wonder if victims can sue or if they will be forced into arbitration and settlements because they had Disney+ or used the My Disney Experience App.
