Disney Dreamlight Valley Game Coming Soon

Fans of Disney and Sims-esque gaming– we have an announcement for your. Gameloft has announced the new game called Disney Dreamlight Valley. This game will be fully launched in 2023, but will have an early access period this summer allowing fans to play a bit of the game.

It seems that you have quests to set the world right and you can customize various villages. The game starts out with “The Forgotten.” From the trailer it appears that you help characters regain their memories and eventually go into a sims-type game. That will run in real time like Animal Crossing.

The beginning of the game has you teaming up with Merlin from “The Sword in the Stone” and eventually you get to the Dream Castle hub to access quests and other realms. Characters have apparently left their worlds and you need to put them back where they belong.

The write-up says:

Discover the magic that memories hold as you embark on an enchanting journey, and explore rich stories in a village of your own design, alongside some of Disney and Pixar’s most beloved characters in this new life-sim adventure game. Welcome to Disney Dreamlight Valley.

IGN describes the game like this:

After the valley fell to darkness, Disney and Pixar characters escaped to their own realms, and it’s up to you to bring them back home. The quests keep you immersed in the world by describing the Disney characters in the context of their universe and not just their movie titles. For example, once Merlin shows you how to unlock the first door to a realm, he asks if you want to visit “a desolated planet with a shy robot” or “the ocean with a demigod.”

The initial game story has 40-60 hours of playtime and then you can spend more time post game according to IGN:

The main storyline of Disney Dreamlight Valley is said to contain about 40-60 hours of gameplay, but once you fill out the valley with all the characters you’ve rescued, you’ll have so much more to do post-game. Every character has their own unique questline and story arc, and can be leveled up to give you their own rewards.

There will be four realms available during the Early Summer Access.

Also good to know is that this game will have cross-play on most devices and they are aiming to have that integrated fully on every platform.

It will be available on:

Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4, Xbox X and Xbox S, Xbox One, and PC. It will be on Steam, Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store, and the App Store.
