Disney Descendants fans, I have some exciting news! This May, Disney is releasing two new “Descendants” books, including a mystery novel and a graphic novel.
The novel
First up is the novel called “Welcome to Merlin Academy: A Descendants Mystery” by Melissa de la Cruz. It will be available on Kindle for $10.99 or as a hardcover print book for $17.99.

The 302 page book is available for preorder (HERE) and will release on May 12.
Here is the synopsis.
“It’s the first day at Merlin Academy, and the new students have no idea what to expect. Hook hopes he’ll get closer to the legacy he was destined for. Hades is determined to impress the already-infamous Maleficent. Uliana recruits Morgie to do some hands-on spellwork so they’re not stuck at a desk all day. And Ella’s not sure where she fits in to all this magical royalty and villainy. Luckily, her new friend Bridget’s got her back.
The one thing they have in common? They’re all intrigued when headmaster Merlin transforms the school’s fountain into the Sword in the Stone. A challenge is issued: pull Excalibur from the rock and a life-changing prize awaits.
But when Merlin and the famed Sword in the Stone vanish, all eyes narrow in on the Villains. Typical. It doesn’t help their image when classes are constantly interrupted by wayward magic and a powerful, ancient spell book goes missing. Amidst secrets and accusations, will the students find Merlin and have a chance at that life-changing prize? Or will their time at Merlin Academy be over before it’s even begun?”
The Graphic Novel
Next up is “Disney Descendants: A Lost Revenge: A Disney Descendants Original Graphic Novel” written by Kaylnn Bayron and illustrated by Ashiah Fulmore.

The book has 176 pages and will release on May 19, 2026. You can preorder it (HERE) on Kindle for $14.39, Paperback – $15.99, or Hardcover $24.99.
This one will likely be popular as it’s about Uma.
Here is the synopsis,
“Uma, daughter of the infamous villain Ursula, is at a crossroads. After helping King Ben and Queen Mal bring down the barrier between the Isle of the Lost and Auradon, Uma no longer knows where she fits in. Unmoored, Uma readies herself and the Lost Revenge crew to leave Auradon’s shores and take to the seas once again. But with a newly open barrier comes new troubles: a group of Auradon Prep students have vanished at sea without a trace. Worried for the students’ safety, the King and Queen ask Uma and her crew to embark on a search-and-rescue mission.
Despite her fears of becoming too much of a do-gooder, Uma accepts. It’s time to drop the Jolly Roger and set sail! As the Lost Revenge weathers dangerous storms—and even stormier emotions—the pirates quickly find that the missing students are a small part of a much larger conflict. Putting her seafaring knowledge, magic, and VK wits to the test, Uma must battle sea witches, her own first mate, and a vengeance-hungry rival ship. Will Uma be able to rescue the students and put a stop a looming threat before it descends upon Auradon? Or is it all already too late?”
Both books will be released in May, 2026.
