Now we have new dates that push everything back a year:
- Avatar 2 was slated for 12/17/2021 is now set for 12/16/2022
- Avatar 3 was slated for 12/22/2023 is now set for 12/20/2024
- Avatar 4 was slated for 12/19/2025 is now set for 12/18/2026
- Avatar 5 was slated for 12/17/2027 is now set for 12/22/2028
To add to the shake-up Star Wars has announced changes to their movie dates as well:

- Untitled Star Wars movie slated for 12/16/2022 is now set for 12/22/2023
- Untitled Star Wars movie slated for 12/20/2024 is now set for 12/19/2025
- Untitled Star Wars movie slated for 12/18/2026 is now set for 12/17/2027
At this time we don’t know who will helm these films or what the films are. Apparently Taika Waititi has started writing the Star Wars film that he is set to co-write with Krysty Wilson-Cairns.
