Disney Cruise Lines Latest Ship Rescues Four Near Bermuda

Disney is getting ready to launch its latest cruise ship, The Disney Treasure, next month. Currently, the ship is on its way from Eemshaven, Netherlands, to Port Canaveral, Florida, and has yet to make its maiden voyage. On the way to its new home in Florida, the ship encountered four people in danger in Bermuda.

A 50-foot catamaran called the Serenity started taking on water about 230 miles off the coast of Bermuda. The passengers messaged for help, and the Coast Guard broadcast the situation.

The Disney Treasure was about 80 miles away. They launched a small boat to rescue the four passengers. Thankfully all of them were recovered with no medical issues reported.

Disney Treasure Captain Marco Nogara told ABC News,

“We are pleased that the Disney Treasure was able to provide aid to the boat passengers in peril. Our crew members worked together on the rescue, skillfully demonstrating their training and commitment to safety.”
