New Disney Cruise Line Float To Debut In Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

Can you believe that it’s almost Halloween, and then it’s on to Thanksgiving? It’s that time of year, and as we head towards the iconic Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Disney has announced that this year, they will debut a new Disney Cruise Line float called “Magic Meets the Seas.”

Disney is pushing its cruise lines. I think they make way more per customer on those cruises than they do on the parks. Currently, they have eight ships on the sea or in development and have announced that they want to have 13 by 2031. Frankly, I think they will oversaturate the market there, as Disney tends to do, but that’s my opinion.

What does the new Disney Cruise Line float look like?

“Magic Meets the Seas” will feature the bows of eight of the Disney Cruise Line ships. The featured ships include the five currently in use—Disney Magic, Disney Wish, Disney Fantasy, Disney Dream, and Disney Wonder—and the upcoming ships—Disney Treasure, Disney Destiny, and Disney Adventure.

The Disney Treasure will launch not long after the parade, in December 2024.

Captain Mickey Mouse and Captain Minnie Mouse will also be featured on the float along with featured characters on the upcoming Disney Treasure, like Aladdin, Jasmine, Miguel, and Moana.

More than just the float!

Besides the new “Magic Meets the Seas” float, Disney will present a choreographed performance featuring characters from Disney/Pixar animation and more.

Disney promises a “toe-tapping number starring Mickey, Minnie and their pals from Pixar Animation Studios’ “Coco,” Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Beauty and the Beast” and more. The melody of memories from favorite Disney films will build to a confetti-filled finale set to the magnetic new Disney Treasure anthem, ‘Live the Adventure.'”

If you are a Disney or DCL fan, you can look forward to this on November 28, 2024.

The 98th (It is actually 100 years old but was suspended during WWII) Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will air on NBC and various other streaming services, starting with a pre-show at 8:30 AM and the parade officially starting at 9 AM-noon.

Here are some of the services that will have access to the parade.

Sling TV, Peacock, Paramount+, Hulu + Live TV, DirecTV, and YouTube TV.
