No. Walt Disney World won’t be opening any time soon.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has just issued what many believe to be a long overdue 30 day stay-at-home order that requires nearly 21 million Florida residents stay indoors unless they are pursuing essential services or activities.
The executive order will take effect midnight Thursday and will run through May 2.
Coronavirus has been tearing its way through Florida, with Orlando and Orange County being particularly hard hit. Statewide there are more than 7,700 cases of Coronavirus in Florida as of Wednesday.
Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings cited new projections that indicate Florida has yet to see the worst of the highly-contagious illness.
Even though Disney Parks are currently taking reservations after June 1, it seems less and less likely that Orlando will be given the “all clear” by government officials less than one month from the end of the stay-at-home order.
Stay tuned for PNP for more news in relation to the re-opening of Orlando theme parks as it is released.
