Disney Changes Theatrical Release Dates Yet Again

It appears that Disney has again made several changes to their theatrical release schedule. Many of these changes were stated during the Investor Day call, but some weren’t mentioned.  Deadline listed some of the changes.

Here’s what we know:

Marvel:

Thor: Love and Thunder set for May 6, 2022 has been moved to July 8, 2022.

Captain Marvel 2 set for July 8, 2022 is now moving to November 11, 2022.

Black Panther 2 is moving from May 6, 2022 to July 8, 2022.

Star Wars:

Rogue Squadron, the film announced with director Patty Jenkins, has a release date of Dec. 22, 2023.

Pixar:

Encanto, the new film announced during the Disney Investor Day has a November 24, 2021 release date.
Turning Red will be released on March 11, 2022.
Lightyear, the Buzz Lightyear origin story, will release on June 17, 2022.

20th Century Films and Searchlight:

King’s Man will move from February 12, 2021 until March 12, 2021.
Antlers which was to open on February 19, 2021 has no new date yet.
Free Guy is now set for May 21, 2021.
Death on the Nile is now at September 17, 2021.
There is a Disney placeholder that has been moved from September 10, 2021 to February 11, 2022.

Of course all of this can change because we’ve been seeing the dates switch over and over again.
