Disney hasn’t given up on theaters entirely just yet.
Both Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe flick, and action comedy Free Guy (starring Ryan Reynolds) are coming to theaters on August 13, 2021 and September 3, 2021 respectively.
Both films will have a 45 day window before coming to digital and/or Disney+.
Disney CEO Bob Chapek made the announcement during the Q2 2021 earnings call earlier this afternoon.
