Disney and Union Representing Musicians Agree to Furlough Terms

The Walt Disney Company has been negotiating with unions since last week about the furloughs due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Now the American Federation of Musicians Local 389 Union, representing musicians for Disney, has reached and agreement with the parks that will allow workers to maintain their health care benefits, educational support, and additional assistance programs, for union members during the furlough.

The furloughs will take effect on April 19th, after Disney has extended pay to some of their employees through April 18th.
