A story circulating on social media says Zachary Levi showed up to the live-action “Tangled” set in Spain, dressed as Flynn Rider, and demanded to be put in the film. But is it true?

Zachary Levi did not show up to the live-action “Tangled” set and demand to be put in the film.

The story comes from the parody site Wong Updates.

Sadly, it was still viewed 2.6 million times, and many actually believed it. I’m not sure why they believed it, because it sounds ridiculous.

The original post said,

“Zachary Levi has reportedly been blacklisted from all future Disney projects after showing up on the set of “TANGLED” in a Flynn Rider costume and demanding to be in the film”.

An IGN Spain article is linked to try to legitimize the claim, but the article is actually discussing the filming in Spain and has nothing to do with Levi.

Zachary Levi originally voiced the Flynn Rider character over 15 years ago. He does have a connection to the character, but he has been busy filming other projects and has a “The Fix” film with Liam Neeson coming out in September.

A lot of people are angry with Levi for political reasons, as he is a right-leaning libertarian and has been vocal about politics.

The Wong Update post was Community Noted saying,

• The post falsely claims Zachary Levi was blacklisted by Disney after showing up on the Tangled live-action set in a Flynn Rider costume and demanding a role, using a leaked set photo as its source.
• The linked Spanish IGN article only reports on filming in Spain with Teagan Croft as Rapunzel and Milo Manheim as Flynn Rider, with no mention of Levi or any incident.
• Levi, who originally voiced Flynn Rider in the 2010 animated film, publicly congratulated Manheim on the casting and has no reported conflict with the project.

“Tangled” is currently filming, starring Teagan Croft as Rapunzel, Milo Manheim as Flynn Rider, and Kathryn Hahn as Mother Gothel.
