Dave & Buster’s becomes Doom & Buster’s for Avengers: Doomsday

Dave & Buster’s is handing its name to Doctor Doom for 77 days, Nov. 16 through Jan. 31, with Marvel arcade games, Doomsday Zones and a surprise double-ticket “DOOMHOUR.”

Dave & Buster’s has a new name, at least until the end of January. Meet Doom & Buster’s.

The arcade and restaurant chain announced the temporary rebrand Wednesday, Nov. 4, as a nationwide promotion for Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday. The full takeover runs Nov. 16 through Jan. 31, 2027, at Dave & Buster’s locations across the country.

By our count, that’s 77 days of Doom, and about six weeks of it come after the movie opens Dec. 18.

Some of it starts now. New Marvel-themed games began rolling out Nov. 4. Doomsday Zones, themed drinks and a double-ticket gimmick called DOOMHOUR arrive Nov. 16.

Chief marketing officer Jeremy Tucker said when a movie this big comes along, “you don’t put up a poster. You bend the knee.” He said the chain gave Doom “our name,” “the floor” and “the bar.”

When does Doom & Buster’s start?

  • Nov. 4: new Marvel games and in-store experiences start rolling out.

  • Nov. 16: the full takeover begins, with Doomsday Zones, drinks and DOOMHOUR.

  • Dec. 18: Avengers: Doomsday opens in theaters.

  • Jan. 31, 2027: Doom & Buster’s wraps up.

Games, attractions and prizes vary by location, so your local D&B might not have everything. The company didn’t say which stores get what.

Dave & Buster’s runs 187 stores in 43 states, Puerto Rico and Canada, according to the release. Its sister chain, Main Event, isn’t mentioned.

What Marvel games are at Dave & Buster’s?

The Doomsday Zones open Nov. 16 with themed entry arches and Marvel signage, but the first games are rolling out now:

  • MARVEL Cosmic Invasion: a four-player beat-’em-up where you pick two heroes and swap their abilities mid-fight

  • Avengers: Roller Race & Battle: a four-player race with a villain to take down on the way

  • Thor’s Hammer Strike: a strength game with a leaderboard and big ticket wins

  • Human Crane: you strap in, become the claw and get lowered into a pile of prizes

  • Mystery Crane: a claw game full of mystery pillow boxes

  • Smash N Win: a race to collect all 20 character-themed balls

  • The Arena: new games and an immersive takeover, with no other details yet

There’s also an Avengers photo booth, an Avengers Funko pusher stocked with Avengers-only Funko prizes and limited-time Avengers cotton candy flavors.

Yes, the Human Crane means a grown adult can pay to be the claw. We have no further questions.

What is DOOMHOUR at Dave & Buster’s?

Starting Nov. 16, Doom picks a random hour, and D&B Rewards members earn double tickets on green-swipe games for those 60 minutes.

Members get a push notification in the D&B Rewards app 24 hours ahead with the date. A second alert on the day reveals the hour. Everyone else finds out from in-store screens and D&B Live radio.

The fine print: you need a Power Card linked to a D&B Rewards account, an activation fee may apply and DOOMHOUR isn’t valid in Canada.

Collectible Power Cards featuring Thor, Doctor Doom, Yelena and more are sold at kiosks for a limited time, while supplies last. The rewards app also gets new challenges with badges and bonus chips.

What’s on the Doom & Buster’s drink menu?

Three cocktails made with Smirnoff and two mocktails run Nov. 16 through Jan. 31. Dave & Buster’s didn’t list prices.

  • Doomsday’s Dominion: vodka, melon liqueur, pineapple and lemon-lime soda, with a “Black Magic” sidecar

  • Multiversal Mule: vodka, blue orange liqueur, dragon fruit and ginger beer, with edible luster dust and an LED glow cube

  • Fantastic Flight: four mini cocktails made with vodka, orange liqueur and citrus sour

  • Panther’s Potion (mocktail): cherry, ginger beer and citrus sour, with a blue shimmer sidecar and silver sugar rim

  • Captain Punch (mocktail): blue raspberry, coconut, pineapple and lemon-lime soda, with a blue sugar rim and a sour strip

The release lists drinks and cotton candy but no new food. Doom, apparently, is not a snacker.

Lylle Breier, a partnerships and promotions executive at The Walt Disney Studios, called it “a bold, fan-first experience.”

What other Avengers: Doomsday tie-ins are out?

  • Dunkin’: Doomsday drinks, doughnuts and collectibles hit stores Nov. 4, plus a new ad starring Channing Tatum as Gambit.

  • Jack in the Box: a Doomsday dipping box arrives Nov. 5.

  • KFC: a Doctor Doom menu starts Nov. 9 in more than 100 countries, but not the U.S.

  • Movie theaters: AMC, Regal and Cinemark all have Doctor Doom popcorn buckets on the way.

Avengers: Doomsday opens Dec. 18. Details are at doomandbusters.com, if Doom allows it.
