Darkwing Duck Comic Kickstarter Gets Funded in Minutes!

Over the past few years, we’ve been teased with the return of Darkwing Duck. Thanks to the DuckTales reboot, we got a small taste of it, but a full-on series never materialized. Thankfully, Dynamite Comics is working to make sure Drake Mallard’s adventures live on.

This week, Dynamite launched a Darkwing Duck Graphic Novel Collection Kickstarter. Considering the character has been out of the public’s eye for a while, fans came out in droves to blow past the $25K funding goal in minutes!

As of this writing, the amount pledged for the graphic novel omnibus has surpassed $133,000, with 860+ backers. There are still 28 days to go!

Darkwing Duck fans will get an exclusive collection of old and new comic books! If you remember the comics from the early and mid-1990s, they’re included along with the newer adventures of the Terror That Flaps in the Night.

Some of these reprints will be bound in oversized 9″x12″ hardcovers, similar to other special edition collections. Not only that, but they’ll include something truly unique:

“Each comes with a unique original art remarqued Darkwing Duck sketch and is signed and numbered with matching mintage numbers for sets purchased. These masterpieces  will define your Darkwing Duck collection.“

The sketches are part of the upper tiers of this Kickstarter. One of these unique pieces of art consists of an original sketch by the legendary Jae Lee.

The highest level pledge, $700, delivers four pieces of commissioned cover art by Ken Haeser.

For those who aren’t looking to spend hundreds, the lower tiers allow you to pick and choose which comics you want to get. The price starts at $20 for a classic issue with a gold foil cover. However, you’ll need to spend a decent amount to get the whole collection.
