The EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival started today at the Walt Disney World Resort. Disney promised that the very sparse CommuniCore Hall would come to life during the EPCOT festivals. That it was kept sparse and muted for that reason.
Well, it opened for the festival and Disney lied.
Disney actually had CommuniCore Hall closed for a bit to ready it for the festival and this is what we got.
Just you wait until they use it for a Festival, that’s when it’ll really shine!

Park Hopper Zack on X shows us the concept art compared to the reality.
It’s actually just embarrassing at this point https://t.co/15tgOc9fHw pic.twitter.com/bgkt2t8vYp

What we got is a far cry from what the concept art promised. While the concept art likely shows the Festival of the Arts that starts in January, one would expect all the festivals to receive as much attention.
X users are not impressed:
Never forget they gave the paying customer less theming for a months long festival than their one day opening media event. https://t.co/JmGwomMJ4S pic.twitter.com/MQGlglTs0r

This is so very true. They made it look amazing for the media event then promptly removed most of it. Why not just leave it up?
So basically, a less charming Odyssey Building

I would at least project old epcot ride footage, or old show videos, or something on the walls to make it some kind of busy. Maybe utilize all of the effects lighting in the ceiling that is off. This looks terrible

Where’s the festival part?

Clearly they spent a lot of time theming this to look like a hospital lobby and gift shop!

With this uninspired design the failure of the “new” Epcot is complete. “Just wait until the Festivals”. This is what we all knew it was, and no merch stand will change that. https://t.co/ec05AAzwFZ

i’ve always found myself standing in the middle of epcot thinking, “man, this is cool and all but i wish it looked more like a college dining hall” https://t.co/jUECbMuCGM

This is my new favorite comment about Disney!

We were promised that this space was supposed to be dynamic during festivals and this is what we got. A store and food area.
What are you doing Disney? Where is the Disney difference? Where did all the money go?
What do you think? Comment and let us know.
