Governor Newsom has stated that the new guidelines for theme parks and sporting events will be announced tomorrow at Noon PST.
He indicated that the California Health Secretary Dr. Ghaly would be the one announcing the guidelines and said something a bit odd:
“We’re going to break up the theme parks. It’s not just one or two brands, it’s many different parts that are part of the theme park industry.”
This might mean different guidelines for different sizes or levels of theme park. I’m also interested to see in what way reopening will correspond with the availability of vaccinations. A great deal of time was spent discussing it and Newsom made it clear that a vaccine wouldn’t widely be available until next year.
How this all applies to theme parks we’ll have to wait until tomorrow to find out what it means for Disneyland and Universal Studios Hollywood.
