Avatar: Guardians of Eywa brings Pandora to Niagara Falls in 2027

Disney Theatrical Group and James Cameron’s Lightstorm licensed a Pandora walk-through that ends with a live acrobatic show. It premieres May 17, 2027, next to Horseshoe Falls in Ontario.

Pandora is headed to Niagara Falls, no theme park ticket required.

AVATAR: Guardians of Eywa is a new walk-through based on James Cameron’s Avatar movies. It holds its world premiere at Niagara Parks in Niagara Falls, Ontario, on May 17, 2027.

Disney Theatrical Group and Cameron’s Lightstorm Entertainment licensed the show, which was announced this week. WDW News Today reported the details on Thursday, Oct. 15.

It runs through early September 2027. After that, it’s built to travel to other cities around the world, though nobody has named them yet.

Here’s a first look at the concept art from CHCH News in Hamilton, Ontario:

What is Avatar: Guardians of Eywa?

It’s a walk-through first and a show second. Guests start in two Pandora settings, a rainforest and a coastal reef, and explore at their own pace, according to Attractions Magazine.

Along the way, interactive installations show off the plants and animals of Pandora.

Then comes a live acrobatic show. It tells the story of the Na’vi cycle of life with dancing, movie-style effects and big stunts, BlogMickey reported.

The whole thing takes about an hour, according to Attractions Magazine and Narcity.

Where is the Avatar experience in Niagara Falls?

At Table Rock Centre, 6650 Niagara Parkway, on the Canadian side. Niagara Parks is hosting the premiere.

Table Rock sits at the edge of Horseshoe Falls, the biggest of Niagara’s three waterfalls. You could walk out of Pandora and straight into the mist.

When do Avatar Niagara Falls tickets go on sale?

Nobody knows yet. Ticket release dates will be announced in the coming months, and prices haven’t been shared.

Fever is the show’s official ticket seller, and there’s a waitlist now. Waitlist members can buy tickets 24 hours before general sales start, Attractions Magazine reported.

Who is making Guardians of Eywa?

A lot of companies. IMMEX developed the format, which it calls Magic Walk. EMM Williams Productions is producing the show, and Montreal studio Moment Factory designed it, according to WDW News Today and BlogMickey.

Magic Walk mixes big video-filled rooms with live performers, and it can include robots. Niagara Parks hasn’t said whether robots are part of this one, Attractions Magazine noted.

Funding comes from private investment and the Government of Canada’s Creative Export Canada program, WDW News Today reported.

“From the beginning, Avatar has been about world-building, emotion, and innovation,” said Angelo Desimini, a senior vice president at Disney Theatrical Group, as quoted by BlogMickey.

Tony Haswani runs EMM Williams Productions. He called the premiere “a defining moment for our company and for the future of immersive live entertainment,” according to WDW News Today.

Is this like Pandora at Disney’s Animal Kingdom?

It’s a cousin. Disney and Lightstorm teamed up before on Pandora: The World of Avatar, which opened at Disney’s Animal Kingdom on May 27, 2017.

That land has two rides, Avatar Flight of Passage and Na’vi River Journey. The Niagara show has no rides at all, and it isn’t a replacement for the Florida land, Attractions Magazine pointed out.

Avatar is also headed to Disney California Adventure. Disney confirmed that plan in 2023, and Walt Disney Imagineering showed a model at D23 this year, BlogMickey reported.

What else does Disney Theatrical Group do?

More than Broadway these days. Its touring and immersive lineup includes the Mundo Pixar Experience, Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Light Trail and Pirates of the Caribbean: The Immersive Adventure.

The group reaches nearly 40 million guests across 300 cities each year, according to BlogMickey.

The timing works for Avatar fans, too. The third movie, Avatar: Fire and Ash, hit theaters in December 2025, so Pandora is still fresh for a lot of families.

If you’re planning a summer 2027 trip to the falls, keep an eye on that Fever waitlist. A walk through Pandora sounds like a pretty good way to dry off after a boat ride under the falls.
