Atlantic Dance Hall’s last public nights are this weekend

Disney’s BoardWalk nightclub closes to regular guests after Sept. 27 and switches to private events. It’s happening the same week Hurly-Burly opens in the old Jellyrolls space.

The lights are going down on one of Walt Disney World’s last late-night hangouts.

Atlantic Dance Hall at Disney’s BoardWalk will end its regular public nights after this weekend. Its final open-to-everyone nights are Friday, Sept. 25, through Sunday, Sept. 27, from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Starting Oct. 1, the club becomes a private event space.

Is Atlantic Dance Hall closing?

Not all the way. It’s just closing to you and me.

Disney confirmed the change in a statement shared by WDW News Today: “Beginning Oct. 1, Atlantic Dance Hall will end its regular weekend operations.”

After that, the space will only open for private events booked through Disney Meetings & Events and Disney Fairy Tale Weddings. So if you want to dance there after this weekend, you’ll need a convention badge or a wedding invite.

When is the last night at Atlantic Dance Hall?

Sunday, Sept. 27.

The club is 21 and up and runs Friday through Sunday nights. Laughing Place says it currently plays music “from the 1980s, 1990s and today.”

It stays open until 1 a.m., which makes it one of the latest-running spots on the BoardWalk.

How long has Atlantic Dance Hall been open?

A long time. It opened July 1, 1996, along with the rest of the BoardWalk, according to D23.

It’s changed its sound a few times since then. D23 notes the club has “experimented with different dance styles, including Latino and swing.” These days it runs on a DJ.

It’s also been quiet for years. Disney Tourist Blog says the club has been “on life support” and mostly exists for conventions and weddings. That makes the private-events-only switch feel less like a big shake-up and more like Disney making it official.

What is replacing Atlantic Dance Hall?

Nothing is replacing it. The room stays, and only its schedule changes.

But the BoardWalk is getting something new the same day. Hurly-Burly opens Oct. 1 in the space where Jellyrolls used to be. It’s themed as an old seaside theater and plans to host family-friendly games and trivia during the day.

At 9 p.m., it turns into a 21-and-up live music spot. It’ll also have a walk-up bar window outside.

A new Basin store also opens on the BoardWalk Oct. 1, Laughing Place reported.

What happened to Jellyrolls at Disney’s BoardWalk?

Here’s the twist.

Jellyrolls, the dueling piano bar, closed April 19, 2025, after 29 years on the BoardWalk. Atlantic Dance Hall outlasted it by about a year and a half.

Now the dance hall is going private the same week Jellyrolls’ replacement opens next door.

Jellyrolls isn’t gone for good, either. In April, it announced plans to reopen in Lake Buena Vista, less than 10 minutes from Disney property, later this year.

Where can adults go at night at Disney World now?

The list is getting shorter, but you still have options.

Hurly-Burly is the new BoardWalk option for grown-ups once it goes 21-and-up at 9 p.m. The resort’s lounges and bars are still open. Disney Springs has plenty of bars and live music, and EPCOT’s World Showcase is right next door to the BoardWalk.

What you won’t find is a big dance floor you can walk into on a Saturday night.

Should you go to Atlantic Dance Hall this weekend?

If it’s on your list, this is your last shot.

The club is a short walk from EPCOT’s International Gateway and the Beach Club, Yacht Club and BoardWalk resorts. Bring your ID, since it’s 21 and up. And if you’ve got a favorite song from the ‘90s, this might be the weekend to request it.
