Suicide Victim at Walt Disney World’s Contemporary Resort Identified as Summer Equitz

Update- The victim of the Contemporary Resort suicide was identified as 31-year-old Summer Equitz from Naperville, IL.

Before the incident, a post appeared on Reddit about a missing woman who had gone to Walt Disney World. When the reports of the suicide hit, many were hoping it was not the same woman. That post was deleted, but it seems to be the same missing woman who had gone to Walt Disney World without telling anyone.

An apparent suicide has happened at Walt Disney World. Reports indicate that it happened at Disney’s Contemporary Resort this evening.

According to News 6 Click Orlando, a dead body was reported around 6:40 PM along North World Drive.

Reports indicate that EMS and police were seen at the Contemporary Resort and monorail service through the building was temporarily suspended.

The Sheriff’s office has reportedly told Click Orlando that the incident was an “apparent suicide.”

It is unclear exactly what happened, but some  said a person fell onto the monorail tracks and was hit by a monorail. However, this has been disputed by authorities.

However, the authorities would not dispute that the body was found on the monorail tracks, saying,

“We don’t release additional information in cases of suicide.”

Sadly, this is not the first time people have committed suicide or died from a fall at the Contemporary Resort.

Back in 2020, a woman jumped or fell from the resort.

In 2023, a man accidentally fell and died at the Contemporary Resort’s Bay Lake Tower as well.

This is a developing story.
