AMC Theaters To Reopen on August 20 with 15 Cent Tickets

Good news for movie fans. Over 100 AMC Theaters are going to reopen on August 20th and for the centennial they are going to offer “movies in 2020 at 1920 prices” for opening day. That means 15 cents a ticket! Then, even after opening day, some ticket prices for older films like ‘The Empire Strikes Back’ will be only $5.

AMC, like many theaters had to close back in March over the pandemic, and now, several months later, they are trying to get back on their feet.

The theater chain also said that it expects to reopen 2/3 of their theaters by the time ‘Tenet’ comes out on September 3. But how many theaters reopen will be determined by the COVID-19 guidelines set by the government in each area. AMC is putting in safety measures in place to combat the pandemic issues like requiring masks, spacing out seats, lowering capacity and even going as far to update their ventilation.

Not everyone is interested in going to the movies, but for many this will be a welcome option. ‘New Mutants’ will be coming out on August 28th and it sounds like a lot of theaters will be ready.

Disney Springs AMC will be included in the initial reopening and 15 cent ticket launch.
