Ahsoka Tano’s inclusion in a live-action ‘Star Wars’ project was a great boon for Disney. It got the character back into the spotlight after ‘Rebels’ ended. New Jedi adventures in case Luke Skywalker is permanently shelved!
The reappearance of Tano, played by Rosario Dawson, didn’t come without a few big questions. What has she been doing over the decades leading up to her teaming up with Mando? The upcoming series may answer those questions.
A somewhat detailed synopsis of the series’s plot was attached to a casting notice. The details of the casting call’s logline were exposed thanks to Daniel Richtman and reported by The DisInsider. It was no big surprise where Tano was going to go after ‘The Mandalorian.’ So, if you’re not up to date on the second season or ‘Rebels,’ spoilers beware:
Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) is on the hunt for the evil Grand Admiral Thrawn in the hope it will help her locate the missing Ezra Bridger, the young Jedi that disappeared with Thrawn many years ago. Based on characters from the “Star Wars” franchise. A spinoff of the TV series “The Mandalorian”.
If Thrawn survived at the end of ‘Rebels,’ then Ezra could as well. How, exactly, that will be explained should be interesting. What would lightspeed without a protective barrier do to two humanoids?
The details of the casting descriptions do not mention Ezra or Thrawn. Perhaps they’re being saved for season two? Not a surprise seeing, given the tropes we’ve seen in shows, likes these with big fanbases. Gotta tease those appearances to keep the viewers hooked!
