About 20 People Gather For Disneyland Reopening Rally

I’m not really sure what to say about this. There was a rally scheduled today for Disneyland employees and guests to try and urge California Governor Newsom to issue reopening guidelines for California theme parks. According to Variety over 20 people came. Yes, you read that correctly, 20-something people showed up.

Some of theme were fans and not employees. I’m surprised more employees didn’t show up.

CBS Los Angeles Posted the following video about the situation:

Among them were fans like Jennifer who said that she wanted to return the support to Cast Members:

“We’ve been coming here for year….and the Cast Members have been here to support us and make us have a good time and we need to support them. You know it’s our turn to be out here hitting the pavement to get their jobs back.”

Another member of the family group, Jessica, brought up Walt Disney World:

“Honestly, I wanted to come out here because I’ve been talking to everyone I know. If Walt Disney World can open safely, so can we. This is proof we can social distance, we can wear our masks and we can be safe, and we can open our happy place. For many people this is where we go to forget about our daily problems and struggles and it brings so many people joy, and I know Walt would want us to reopen.”

The older lady with them, Grandma, is 95 and has been coming since it opened and showed up to support them now. For that, I have a lot of respect.  She loves it so much that she came out to support the Cast Members. Even if hardly anyone came, that right there is uplifting. But it’s really sad that so few came out.

Hopefully Disneyland will get the reopening guidelines soon and they are reasonable.

What to you think? Comment and let us know!
