Rumor- Walt Disney World to Replace Country Bears with Toy Story Show

A new rumor has surfaced from WDWNT that the Country Bear Jamboree could be replaced with a marionette Woody’s Roundup Toy Story Show. Again it’s a rumor so until there’s confirmation from Disney.

According to WDWNT:

According to sources, the closure of the Country Bear Jamboree in Frontierland at the Magic Kingdom is imminent. As has many reported a number of times, Walt Disney World is expected to promise guests 50 new or special offerings for its 50th anniversary celebration in two years time and a whole new attraction will very likely come to Frontierland to replace the 1971 audio-animatronic spectacle.

A Woody’s Roundup Show has happened before

Sadly, I do feel this one could partly be plausible, but I’m not sure if they would put in in Country Bears.  A show like this has already happened years ago at the Golden Horseshoe Stage in Disneyland (actors not puppets.) Over at WDWMagic someone else (Cmdr_Crimson)posted a link to the Toy Story Show.

**side note** When I hear rumors I head over to WDWMagic to see what they say. They have some fantastic insiders over there that usually know what’s going on. 100% recommend that you check them out!

Currently Disneyland no longer has the Country Bear Jamboree as it was removed for The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh attraction.

A Toy Story “Woody’s Roundup” attraction would fit into the Frontierland theming. But Tomorrowland already has the Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin attraction and store and there’s a whole Toy Story Land over at Disney Hollywood Studios. I would hope they would find a location to made it additive and not a replacement.

I do think that the Country Bear Jamboree needs an update I don’t really think it needs turned into another Toy Story attraction. But sadly, I could see Disney doing something this. Especially with Bob Chapek pushing for more IP content.

At the end of the day it’s just a rumor and as with many Disney rumors, some are true and a lot aren’t. Until we get confirmation from Disney it’s all scuttlebutt and we should just take it with a grain of salt. If there is an announcement I would expect it to be at D23.

What do you think? Comment and let us know!
