Yesterday the internet was filled with stories about Harry Styles, the singer from One Direction, being confirmed as playing Prince Eric in the upcoming live-action The Little Mermaid movie.

Earlier in the day I saw a couple of stories that he was considering the part of Prince Eric.

Then the headlines from other sources said he was confirmed as playing the role of the prince in Disney’s live-action reboot.

A few hours later yet other news sources reported that “NO” he was not going to be Eric.  That although he was a fan of the project he had turned it down.

So I waited on running a story until today, when we had some kind of confirmation on it. It appears that the later story was true and he has turned down the role according to multiple sources online.

Is this going to change again later today?  I feel like the headlines are more of a ride than the Disney Parks. But, supposedly, the “sources” have said he turned it down.  I would love to know who all these sources are. Sources said he signed the contract too.  Let’s put it this way. The current stance according to many large entertainment news sites is that “sources” have stated he turned it down.

I wonder who will be the new choice for Prince Eric then?
